Victor Teran » Director/Writer/Producer
Teran began his career in the film industry in 1996 as an assistant and script analyst for Seven Arts Pictures where he first began to learn the business of independent film eventually working his way up to VP of Production.
While at Seven Arts he continued to pursue his own projects both as a writer and as a producer. In 2004 he left Seven Arts to produce his first feature film, “English as a Second Language,” with writer/director, Youssef Delara.
From 2005 to 2008, while continuing to write and develop his own projects, Mr. Teran served as VP of Physical Production for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment where he worked on 18 mid-budget films including “Lars & The Real Girl,” “Death at a Funeral,” “Charlie Bartlett” and “Synecdoche, NY.”
In 2009, Mr. Teran made his writing/directing debut in “Bedrooms,” a multi-director feature film starring Julie Benz and Moon Bloodgood which will premier on Showtime in November, 2010.
Mr. Teran is currently a partner/producer in Cima Productions. The company is developing an eclectic slate of lower budget films, including Mr. Teran’s “Snap,” which is scheduled to shoot later this year.
In addition to his activities with Cima Productions, Mr. Teran has written 7 feature scripts and currently has projects in development at John Wells Productions and Mike Tollin Productions.
Youssef Delara » Writer/Director/Producer
Youssef Delara, a native of Los Angeles, began his education in the art of film at Loyola Marymount Film School where he focused on directing while pursuing additional coursework in
photography at Art Center College of Art and Design. After college he applied his acute visual sense working as a Visual Effects Associate on the highly successful Paramount Television series, “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.” There he eventually became a Visual Effects Supervisor, before going on to produce visual effects for “Star Trek: Voyager” as well as sequences for the popular “Star Trek” feature films “Generations” and “Insurrection.” After a stint working on another visual effects heavy television series, Universal Studio’s “Burning Zone,” and two heavy visual effects features, “The Karate Dog & Baby Genius’s 2”, Delara took his sharp creative eye and practical production skills to the world of advertising where he worked as Creative Director for Cima Productions, a full service advertising agency catering to the burgeoning Latin American market in Southern California. In addition to launching countless radio and print advertising campaigns at Cima, Delara has written, produced, directed, and edited nearly a dozen recurring commercials which have aired on major Spanish language television networks.
In 2003/4, Delara turned his focus back to entertainment by writing and directing his first feature, “English as a Second Language,” a story loosely based on his experiences living in Los Angeles. The film has garnered critical acclaim as well as multiple awards at the New York Latino, Newport Beach, Boston Latino, Orlando Latino, Portland Pine and the Santa Fe Film Festivals. In 2009, Delara established Cima Productions as a burgeoning production service and picture editorial company having edited as well as post produced multiple feature films and commercials. Delara has recently produced, wrote and directed Cima’s 2nd feature film, “Bedrooms” starring: Julie Benz, Moon Bloodgood, Sarah Clarke, Xander Berkely and Barry Bostwick. The Cima team is actively in development on a wide array of feature films as well as a ground-breaking web series.
Amir Delara » Producer
Amir Delara has been a successful businessman and entrepreneur for over 20 years, having built from the ground up a number of profitable ventures in the legal and financial services industries.
In 2001, Mr. Delara formed Cima Productions, a commercial production company specializing in Latino media and markets, to provide marketing and advertising services for his various businesses as well as to outside clients. Having placed over four million dollars in Spanish language television, radio and print advertising, Mr. Delara’s Cima Productions has made a successful business of effective communication with the Latino community. Always a hands on manager, Mr. Delara produced and directed many of Cima Productions advertising spots. In 2003 Mr. Delara decided to employ his creative instincts and the infrastructure of his marketing enterprise to expand into filmed entertainment targeted at the Latino American community. At the end of that year, Mr. Delara financed and produced Cima Productions’ first film, “ESL: English As A Second Language” starring Kuno Becker, Maria Conchita Alonso and John Michael Higgins, written and directed by his partner and brother Youssef Delara, film in the fall of 2004. The following year, Mr. Delara, along with his brother, began to develop the slate of films for Cima Productions. The first of which, “Bedrooms”, starring: Julie Benz, Moon Bloodgood, Sarah Clarke, Xander Berkely and Barry Bostwick.
Shab Azma » Producer
Azma holds over a decade of diverse entertainment, production, talent and brand management experience. With her start at NBC’s press and publicity department, Azma got a quick taste for entertainment and yearned to get into film. From NBC, Azma landed a position at Universal, managing domestic licensing and branding for such notable films as Jurassic Park, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, The Mummy, and The Fast and the Furious. Azma eventually left her studio post to work in talent management when she took on the role as VP of licensing at the Firm. There she provided a unique service in extending the brands of the company’s exclusive client roster (Leonardo Dicaprio, Cameron Diaz, Vin Diesel, Orlando Bloom, Jennifer Lopez etc). In addition to working closely with the talent, Azma also worked with Joe Roth’s former film company, Revolution Studios (a Firm client), managing domestic licensing and merchandising for their film library.
In 2003, Azma started her own boutique entertainment company Fireball Group. Her work has included extending the brand of America’s funniest family, the Wayans, most known for “In Living Color”, “Scary Movie” and “White Chicks”. Taking their brand of humor from adult comedy to family entertainment, Azma secured deals with Nickelodeon and Warner Bros. Home Video to create the animated series “Thugaboo”. Serving as an executive in charge of production on “Thugaboo”, Azma quickly realized her passion for producing.
Most recently, she took on the role as Executive Producer, on a new reality television show she sold to The Weinstein Company entitled “The Live In Guru” featuring former supermodel turned holistic healer, Cameron Alborzian. In addition, she also produced a documentary with Alborzian shot almost entirely in India,entitled “Beyond the Mind” which explores natural healing through Ayurveda. Having a passion for humanitarian causes, she additionally produced groundbreaking viral video campaigns about the recent violent protests in Iran and the war over conflict minerals in the Congo.
Azma partnered up with Cima Productions in 2008, after watching“ESL”. “Bedrooms” was Azma’s first indie feature and collaboration with Cima.
Maury Rogow » Consulting Producer
Maury Rogow started his successful career in the software and communications fields with Lucent Technologies. Seven years later, with GeoTel Communications, he negotiated the first CTI / web collaboration software project with Chase Bank. With his help, GeoTel was purchased in a stock exchange with Cisco Systems for over $1 Billion. Maury then shifted to the entertainment industry when he co-founded RIP Media Group, where he serves as President.
As a member of National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), Film Independent, as well as a Certified Inbound Marketing Professional, Maury is currently working with legendary comic creator Bob Layton (Iron Man), writer/director John Harrison (Dune, Children of Dune) and Anne Marie Gillen (Fried Green Tomatoes). He is active on the board of advisers, and is part owner, of The McKim Group, an investment bank focused on the new media and software industries. Maury has appeared on television in various host roles for E! Television, Time Warner, and The Style Network and has written the life changing book “Finding The Career You Will Love.”
His company, RIP Media Group, creates film and TV projects as well as delivers online marketing campaigns for clients through a team of partners in finance, development, marketing and distribution. He is the Executive Producer on the upcoming feature film, Bedrooms, starring Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), Julie Benz (Dexter, Rambo), Sarah Clarke (Twilight) with Olmos Productions and CiMA Productions.
Eric R. Brodeur » Consulting Editor
Mr. Brodeur has worked on a number of independent feature films using the flexibility of Apple's Final Cut Pro for digital tapeless workflows. His projects have been shot on 35 mm, RED, and various other high-definition formats.
As an Editor, Mr. Brodeur has co-edited Bedrooms and Ije The Journey intended for theatrical release. As Assistant Editor and post-production consultant, his credits include The Green Goddess, Finding Gauguin, Elektra Luxx, and FUEL which have screened at SXSW and Sundance.
A former computer professional with 10+ years of experience, he has worked for Fortune 100 companies, start-ups and higher education. His accomplishments span an array of disciplines such as the design of large-scale video storage networks for UCLA as well as web development utilizing Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Leveraging his expertise with Windows, Macintosh, Internet, and video technologies he served as Chief Technology Officer of CastPro, a video encoding and web production facility formerly located in downtown Los Angeles.
Mr. Brodeur's technology experience enables him to quickly assimilate and integrate the latest in Digital Cinema technology. This creates a unique freedom to focus entirely on the craft of Editing and his passion for storytelling.
